Beginning on July 24, 2020 and extending to August 29th at the Cultural Arts Center in Columbus, it combines Karin Dahl’s abstract art and Harrison Ponce’s contemporary music. Each painting has a sound track — music that extends its meaning. Half of the show starts with specific abstract paintings and has music written in interpretation. The other half is the reverse - the creative process begins with the composer’s music and meaning is interpreted in each painting. This process of translating meaning from one art form to another is called transmediation and is the core idea of the exhibit.
