I offer private lessons in the following areas:
My piano teaching involves work on theory, history, technique, performance skills (e.g., overcoming anxiety), musicality, and anything it takes to get the sound we want!
Musicality, or musical interpretation, is key to music, whether you are studying, listening, or performing. There can be so many considerations for how a piece of music is delivered, some obvious and some so subtle and multi-faceted that it make take more than one lesson to appreciate all there is to offer!
Jokingly referred to as “the rocket science of music,” music theory can be complex and difficulty to understand. Music theory has always been a passion and deep interest of mine, and teaching it is even more rewarding.
I help people to learn music theory, from the very basics of note names and key/time signatures to complex music theory analyses involving form, harmonic structure, and more.
Whether you’re looking for some music theory basics, a private tutor for Music Theory Courses (e.g., AP Music Theory), or to supplement your music education, music theory will provide you with so many new lenses to approach music.
